features of Flashsteps
The main features of Flashsteps.com include tutorials in the form of step-by-step tutorials and video tutorials. I am thinking of having a small quiz on the site with a javascript ‘hide’ method, that will have a question and the answer will be hidden until you click on the ’show answer’ button. The tutorials will be laid out like similar tutorials we are all familiar with. These will have a number, text telling you what to do, and a screenshot that will show you where and how. That’s really all I have for now. As soon as I get one completed, I will post it.

Didn’t think about it, but I guess I should post my comps.

E-learning sites research for my project
Well, there is a lot of stuff out there. I have looked through quite a bit of information and have narrowed some stuff down. I wasn’t exactly sure what we were supposed to blog on, e-learning websites or subject related websites for our projects, so I did both. Listed below are websites that I thought best related the information in the way I wanted to mimic.
This website was awesome. I love the fact that it teaches information with fun. The games and interactivity here are a bit targeted towards kids I believe, but the concept is still strong. I don’t know if I’ll have time to do anything like this, but I still think it is a cool way to e-learn.

This website has what I am going to try to do in the form of tutorials. A simple to follow, step-by-step tutorial with screenshots to show the user what and where. I learn best this way, and I think others do to. I also like the way the code sections are shown as they would be in a coding window.
http://www.kirupa.com/developer/flashcs3/preloader_as3_pg1.htm
Kirupa.com has great tutorials and information, dating back to Flash MX. I like the way they do their tutorials as well. They do theirs very similar to getw3help.com’s and others. The only thing that I think would be better is a video tutorial and breakdown of a project. That is what I want to add to my website.
http://flashexplained.com/
Out of all of these, I like this website’s style most of all. It is very image driven, with screenshots and example, and they show the flash swf file in action to let you know what you are building. This is a very important strategy to me.
Like I said, I didn’t know if we were doing posts on websites that were about our project, or more e-learning stuff, so I did both.
E-learning website information
http://managementhelp.org/trng_dev/methods/on_line.htm
This website has a lot of information about creating and looking for an e-learning website, such as what to look for etc.
I also found this website that was a link from the managementhelp.org site. It has a great list of what to put on an e-learning site.
